Departing from your Sydney hotel  at 8.00 am, travelling via the scenic Bells Line of Road, visiting the iconic Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens and World Heritage exhibition at Mt Tomah. Travelling to the historic Little Hartley Vale village for lunch  crossing the historic Cox’s Road and then travel to Blackheath in the Blue Mountains to experience the historic Govetts Leap lookout (Triassic sandstone escarpment of the Narrabeen Group) in the Blue Mountains and visiting the National Parks Visitor Centre, with a leisurely stroll along the  Fairfax trail with more outstanding outlooks, followed by  a visit to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba for afternoon tea.

With accommodation in the adjacent and historically famous Carrington Hotel and a scrumptious three course dinner to the accompaniment of ambient music played on the hotel’s grand piano.

Next morning, after a full breakfast, a visit to the famous Narrabeen Group landforms at Echo Point (including a walk along the new nature trail to the Three Sisters), and then exploring the underlying Permian Coal Measures exposures in Jamison Valley, accessed by the steepest passenger railway in the world.

Some sightseeing  around selected sites  at Katoomba and  Leura  followed by lunch at a local restaurant, then a couple of leisurely scenic walks  before travelling back to Sydney along the Great Western Highway (following much of the historic Cox’s Road) to Springwood, diverting down the Hawkesbury River Road and crossing the Nepean River at Richmond, arriving in back in Sydney around 6.00 pm.
